"They didn't exactly make this easy, did they?" Gwen asked, huffing alongside Ameena while the two had somehow made their way across the area and slowly walked towards the tower. What they would find in there was up in the air, though Gwendolyn was adamant about finding something that could help her understanding of Ultra Space out! There had to be something of note in there for them to get! She hurried forward past a few stray feral Megaopolans before they would become caught up in the crowd once more.

The risk was huge and it was possible they could very well get seriously injured in this place, but what was a great reward if it didn't involve a little risk?

Suddenly, a terrifying crash came from one of the areas beside them. One of the derelict buildings had just up and fall over on a couple of other smaller buildings, or at least would have. It suddenly shot straight back up before sinking into the skyline,m alongside a huge, bulbous body stomping through the streets of the city. "Wh-What is that?!" Gwen gasped at the towering Ultra Beast who was nearby the tower, yet busy chomping down on some other less than noteworthy buildings.

They hadn't gained its ire just yet, but sitting across from them, directly in the path of the Guzzlord was an opening into the base of the tower. A small hole that could fit Ameen, her and Gishath. "Quick! We can get in through there instead of fighting our way through the front!" She dashed out to go before they were noticed, with the Gabite tailing behind her.

Their dash across the lane for the impending Gusslord was quite terrifying. In all her years, Gwen had safely assumed that she wouldn't staring at such a horrifying Ultra Beast such as this, let alone wandering around some hellish alien world full of crystal people, and yet, here she was doing exactly that. Once safely across, she looked back at Ameena and hoped that she could handle herself, although it appeared to have hit a bit of a wall once the beast's tongue reached out to swallow the Intelleon.

"Shit, not good!" Gishath tugged at her side, pointing for her to get inside of the building. Gwen shook her head, throwing at her Magneton as a series of beeps and boots filled the air. She pointed at the large target while praying there was time. "Stick to the Guzzlord and shock it until it spits out the Intelleon!" Following orders, the electric type soared over to the Guzzlord’s tongue and clfamped down on it before shocking the Ultra Beast enough to hopefully release his grip on the Pokémon.

After the act was done, she recalled the Magneton back before they could be a secondary meal. "Let’s get inside before anythibg else tries to eat us." Gwen said, then led the way inside of the small hole into the ground floor. Her feet hit cracked and chipped ground, with monitors and destruction apparent in their wake. This was a lobby area of some kind, or it once was. Now it looked more comparable to the aftermath of an explosion. Rubble, chunks of foundation and papers everywhere. "It looks abandoned alright. I don't see any signs of any of the megapolans getting in here. At least, not on this floor."

She slowly walked to face a series of torn and aged documents across a table, doing her best to decipher it.

What Gwen found were studies and reports done by an author with an illegible name, the ink smeared and faded away long ago. Whoever had written the report likely had never once considered what state their hard work would end up in, at the very least. The ranger's hands fell across the surface as Ameena slipped through the crack in the wall.

"Reports of some kind." Gwen put simply. She turned around and walked near Ameena to show her. Waiting for the other woman were drafts and sketches of the Ultra Beasts here, but smaller in scale. Even faded photographs of one Nhilego that was about the size of a Bulbasaur. "They're about Ultra Beasts. Apparently, they weren't so huge in size originally. Something forced them to grow larger, under some kind of influence. Could this be because of the Megaopolans experimenting on them? I can't imagine it would be anything else."

She put the papers away once Ameena had finished, into the depths of her ranger backpack where it would either be safe from the elements or be at risk from being covered in Goomi slime. "Guess there's only one place to go now." She said, looking down the hall at the proceeding staircase. The area around them was cloaked in shadows. Absolute darkness with the only lighting coming from the faint glimmering lights on the horizon. An uneasy feeling fell over Gwendolyn, her feet taking her closer to the exit door.

It did make sense that somebody might store the more fragile and important items up near the top of the tower. Keeping them anywhere the massive horde of feral megaopolans could be risked smashing them into tiny, bite sized pieces. Gwendolyn followed Ameena as she led the way up the staircase and hopefully into a better area of the tower here. She and Gishath were on edge the entire way, their footsteps echoing through the empty halls. Nothing seemed to be attacking them so far, and the only thing here were the distant winds blowing through edged glass.[break][break]

Suddenly, something stopped their ascent up the stairs. A Blacephelon appeared before the party and stared at them for a moment. "Shit." The ginger cursed under her breath, looking over as it seemed to be readying to do what all hotheaded explosion loving Pokémon did. Gwen panicked and did the first thing that came to mind as the Ultra Beast reached to detach its head from its body.[break][break]

"Watch out!" Gwen pushed past the Lucario and Ameena while holding the railing in her right hand. In one fell movement, she pushed the Blacephelon's head down onto its body to prevent it from turning it into a combo, then jumped up and drop kicked the head to send it away and gain some distance. The result had made her face plant on the floor, but the ranger forced herself up and took Ameena's hand. "C'mon, let's fall back for now. We're not prepared for whatever else might be in this tower."[break][break]

She hurried back down the stairs to the second floor and found a broken fire exit down, though the steps here were well rusted. It was a way down at bare minimum, and away from the Megaopolans trying to ram down the door in the front.

Gwen stopped at Ameena's request to give her Lucario enough time to clear the path with its speed enough of a force to carve a way through the growing mob. Once the way had been cleared enough, the two took off through the opening until the crowd of frenzied people were all but a distant memory. "Is that why I feel a migraine after being in Ultra Space for a long while?" The girl asked after they were a safe distance away. "Huh, I didn't ever think that would be why." The differences in pressure and more did make sense all things considered. Dimensional travel was pretty weird, but such sacrifices were needed in the name of science.

The two women hid behind a wall after a lengthy run, with Gwen catching her breath and absentmindedly leaning near Ameena. She didn't know that she was doing so, but it was comforting having such a great guide to help her survive out here. The doctor's intentions were still unknown to the younger Ranger, but to her, it was another reason to put her trust in the other woman.

"Thanks again for everything, Ameena. I love these little expeditions with you." Gwendolyn smiled, with Gishath standing beside her with his usual unamused expression. "Maybe one day I'll be giving tours here with an assistant of my own~"
